Beginner's Guide To SEP Ltd continued...
What Funds were available in Western Scotland?
Since 1988, Western Scotland has received funding under
Objective 2. From January 2000, some parts of the region were eligible
for Objective 2 due to their urban problems or declining traditional
industries. A lower level of funding was available to other parts
of the region through an Objective 2 Transition budget. SEP Ltd managed
both these
Objective 2 Funds.
URBAN II is a European Union Community Initiative Fund that focuses on
a limited number of target areas across Europe. In Scotland, URBAN
II operated in the Clyde Urban Waterfront Regeneration Zone,
covering the two linked but distinct communities of Clydebank South
in West Dunbartonshire, and Port Glasgow in Inverclyde.
Here's
a map of the area that we are responsible for.
Organisations
in the region were also likely to access Objective 3 money.
This is managed by the Scottish
ESF Objective 3 Partnership.
The £1,000m ERDF and ESF invested in the
region since 1988 have supported a wide range of projects.
Some have
been large-scale projects like the Glasgow Science Centre and
the Clyde Auditorium - aptly nicknamed the 'Armadillo' by Glaswegians -
and the not so big, such as City Centre Representatives.
How can I apply for funding?
The 2000-06 Western Scotland Objective 2 and Clyde Waterfront URBAN II Programmes are now closed for new applications.
