Increased Grant Requests

2000-06 Western Scotland Clyde Waterfront URBAN II Community Initiative

Please note that the deadline for submitting increased grant requests was 1 October 2007.

SEP Ltd has now processed all the requests that could be accommodated and advised non-successful project sponsors as appropriate.

2000-06 Western Scotland Objective 2 Programme

At the end of 2006, the 2000-06 Western Scotland Objective 2 Programme was fully committed, with several measures in the Programme showing overcommitment due to exchange rate fluctuations. As a result no new project applications are being invited. The principal mechanism for maintaining maximum commitment levels will be the consideration of increased grant requests.

At the Programme Implementing Committee meeting on 15 February 2007, the approach and process for considering increased grant requests was agreed.

The key points to note are:

  • there are currently no funds available for increased grant requests for existing projects
  • funds will only become available on a measure by measure basis if there is decommitment and/or clawback of grant from other projects and final claims underdeclaration.
  • that on the basis of current trends it is not anticipated that a significant level of funds will become available
  • that the final date for project sponsors to notify SEP Ltd. of decommitment or underspends for recycling is 1 September 2007
  • that the final date for submitting any increased grant requests will be 1 October 2007

A three stage approach will be implemented as follows:

  • project sponsors should discuss any potential request for increased grant with SEP Ltd
  • if invited to apply, all necessary documentation should be submitted

SEP Ltd will assess the request for technical eligibility, taking into account project and claims performance of the sponsor, availability of funds and Scottish Guidance Notes.

Any technically competent increased grant requests will be considered on a monthly basis by SEP Ltd in conjunction with the Scottish Executive and decisions made will be reported to the next meeting of the Programme Monitoring Committee.
